Limbaugh drew an extended "analogy" between Tom Daschle and Satan

KFNX John Dayl has been devoting a good bit of his show to calling out the host in the time slot preceding his shift. A theme repeated is his mocking Dr. Newcomb and/or Newcomb's callers for disparaging GW Bush and Bush supporters. Thursday evening, a caller challenged him by pointing out that liberals have been dealing with such name calling and rhetoric for some time from many of the prominent right wing radio and television talk show hosts. Dayl refuted that, and asked for proof.

Well, I could write entire volumes on the matter, but here's one incident that leaped to mind regarding a popular right wing host who recently drew the wrath of Flordia officials for a drug addiction problem.

How many different versions of Satan, the devil, have you seen in your life? I mean, the comic book devil with the red face and the horns, seen that one. We've seen the Satanic devil of the horror films. We've seen the devil portrayed as just an average man, a human being, in the movie "Rosemary's Baby". We've seen the comic devil of TV shows. We've even seen the smooth, tempting devil in Hollywood moves. Is Tom Daschle simply another way to portray a devil?...

Consider another radio talker, who has written a book titled Deliver Us from Evil : Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism.

If Dayl really takes umbrage at Dr. Newcomb's on air diatribes, perhaps he should arrange a debate and address his complaints mano to mano. I listen to all the local talk shows, and Dr. Newcomb consistently permits dissenting viewpoints, allowing opposing callers to speak their piece, except perhaps in the show's last segments, where he tries to jam in as many calls as possible. Mr. Dayl's remarks are totally off the mark, as on most other shows (of which most all are of a conservative bent), callers with differing views than the host are fodder for the host's own soapbox. Unless a screener determines that they would make an easy target for the host to denounce. I don't get that vibe from Dr. Newcomb's show whatsoever.

Not true, Naum....Medved constantly discusses opposing view points quite well. Prager is also decent and polite. Hewitt, each week has the Smart Guys; a liberal lawyer and a conservative lawyer discussing Supreme Court issues and cases. Fascinating. He talks with Matt Iglesias, a liberal blogger (Hugh Hewitt is a fanatic with Blogs, by the way).
Rush loves to talk with liberals. Unfortunately, they usually continue spewing and yacking, even as Rush is trying to sport a discussion. Hannity's book, when one reads the cover only would naturally incite anger among liberals. Try reading it. It's ironic that the vitriole from conservatives is all you talk about and criticize. You never find time for the equally acid vitriole from the left. Have you heard about Hugh Hewitts new book? The title in my opinion is even more negative towards Democrats than Hannity's.

Your defense of Newcomb is also way off base. I've never heard such useless, angry, worthless diatribe (even Savage is better. He's a hoot, though I prefer more poignant talk from Hewitt, Medved and Ingrahamn); John Sebastian was at least humorous and funny (until he suggested I was a racist. He left shortly after).

Newcomb is vicious with all things conservative and his hatred of Bush fuels his patheological
quest for the organized right-wing conspiracy.
Newcomb has managed to find "right-wing conspiracies" from just about every national event this year. Let's count the ways:

"Howard Stern's dismissal from six markets (of which he's been re-introduced in most, if not all)was a Bush Conspiracy. He went on and on about the plan by Bush to shut down all dissent on radio"

"Moore's movie was completely factual and truthful with NO crazy shit. Right-wingers could only defend against Moore, because they're kool-aid drinkers. He's obviously proud that Goyette is on the same wagon on this one. Naturally, when Linad Ronstadt, Dixie Broads et al. are given icy receptions from fans, it's an attempt from the right-wing machine to shut them up. Oh,and the Bush Doctrine and his 'mission in Iraq' are always on the hotplate."

"Richard Clarke was absolutely truthful in blaming Bush for everything about 9/11. When right-wingers struck back, it was an example of right-wing character assasination. Just listen to Seth's excuses- Clarke is a Republican, therefore, his critisism of Bush is truth. Of course, as we all know, Lieberman, Zell, and the Twin-City mayor who introduced Bush the other night are all..."SCHILLS(your words)"

"FOX News....enough said. No liberal bias, according to Newcomb et al.(you as well), but certainly FOX is a right-wing Bush machine."

"Recent revelations by Swiftboat Vets. They're scum, Bush propagandists and right-wing conspiracists. Apparently, liberal vets are untouchable, but any vets questioning Kerry are scum of the earth, regardless of their heroic status-and automatically neocons"
Newcomb, no doubt quotes McCain in saying Bush should repudiate the ads, but not the ads sponsored by MOVEON.org. that suggest Bush is certainly Hitler, Fascist, Liar, Killer, etc. Certainly, liberal 527's like the Heinz Foundation, Tides, etc. Certainly, Kerry should not have to explain his service as Bush was forced to. Certainly, Kerry as a veteran is more qualified as Bush, just as Clinton was more qualified as HW Bush and Bob Dole.

"Oh, yes. I've heard many callers suggest Bush knew and allowed 9/11 to happen. Newcomb NEVER disagrees and corrects obvious horseshit. He only says, "Interesting." He agreed with a caller that Bush let the Saudi family goafter 9/11, therefore, heknew about it. He constantly uses his Catholicism to make himself the real Christian, cursing all others conservative.

You are right in that Newcomb is a good sport about listening to neocons like Bob in Peoria, even Frank and Jackhammer; but he constantly refers to conservatives in general as "THOSE PEOPLE"; "THIS IS WHAT THEY BELIEVE; YOU SEE MY FRIENDS, THIS IS WHAT THEY DO...MY FRIENDS STRAIGHT FROM THE MOUTH OF A CONSERVATIVE, UNBELIEVABLE WHAT THEY SAY" yadda yadda.
Now, of course, this is no big deal. It's radio, it's geared towards an audience (much like the neocons on radio).
But let's get real, Naum. Newcomb advertises his show as relief from the hateful rhetoric from other talk radio hosts. Ironically, he's every bit as bad as what he "claims" the others to be.

Obviously Rush is being humorous when he talks about Daschle as a Satan. He'd be the first tosay thatDaschle doesn't have the backbone, or intelligence to be in the same shoes as Lucifer. This is nothing...nothing at all.
Dashle is a fav on his show for teasing, oppining and imitating.

Naum, let's again be honest. Both sides hate one another's ideoligies and attacks. Get used to it. Certainly I have form StrausPlace. A Debate would be fine with me. Newcomb is all about hateful rhetoric. If you don't see it, you're NOT Independent.
