Clear Channel Sends Stations Ban List of Songs

In response to the recent national tragedy, Clear Channel, one of the largest radio networks, has compiled a "ban" list of songs with "questionable content" and sent it to all of their member stations. Apparently, a company memo leaked out to the public, where it was then plastered up on F***edCompany.com. I've seen some reports that it's a hoax, but then I've read accounts from Clear Channel workers that say it is indeed true, but it's a "recommendation", not an order to censor.

The list includes artists from a variety of genres, from Elton John and Bruce Springsteen to Green Day, Metallica, and the Smashing Pumpkins. And it looks like the decision to add a song to the list was based more on the title than the lyrical content. See the song list inside ...

dear god. Like a bridge over troubled water?
I like pleasure spiked with pain,
But how could they ban "Aeroplane"?
It's my aeroplane
That motherfucker's always spiked with pain.
If 98 KUPD is Clear Channel, it's obviously not working. It's the only station to hear Megadeath, Metallica, Mudvayne, The Cult, Foofighters.
I sincerely doubt this, ladies.
Alright... what ever happened to self expression almost all of these song were hits decades ago. their lyrics are so much more meaningfull than any thing that plays on our radio waves to day. Play the songs!!!!
Well, "Curious", I posted this nearly 3 years ago, in September 2001. It is indeed, highly doubtful, that such a list, if it ever existed, is being followed today by a good lot of CC stations.
This list is bullshit. I had heard almost all of these songs recently on my rock station. The list, if true, is not completely true. Who ever is stating this is full of shit. Some songs i am glad they are not playing because they suck. But i didn't see any on this list.
Always keep smiling :)
